Belichick wanted to know from Manning, would Dungy have settled for trying to tie the score with a field goal if the Patriots had forced a fourth down? Or would Dungy have gone again for the touchdown?
Manning responded like a seasoned foreign diplomat. He recalled telling Belichick only this: "I didn't want Tony to have to decide. We wanted to score on third down."
